Robert Policht is a lieutenant with Ladder Co. 2 of the Passaic, NJ Fire Department. He helped develop and implement the department’s response protocols for human‑vs‑machine incidents and is assigned to the Fire Investigation Unit. Policht began his career as a volunteer firefighter and went on to serve as a chief of department.

 

He has taught at the Bergen County Fire Academy, serves on the NJ Division of Fire Safety’s Fire Threat Task Force, and holds a master’s degree in emergency management and homeland security from Arizona State University. His work has been published across multiple fire service trade publications.

 

Policht is also a founder and contributor to Flow and Vent, a training platform dedicated to fire and rescue operations, and is a recipient of a NJ FMBA Valor Award for rescues performed during Hurricane Ida in Passaic.
